World Intellectual Property Day Conference 2026

- 23 April 2026 -

Each year, we celebrate World IP Day by welcoming guest speakers who are well-placed to help us explore the contribution IP makes to business and society. We are lucky this year to be joined by Dr Maria Lopalco, Head of Technology Transfer at Edinburgh Innovations, University of Edinburgh. She will speak about the University’s approach to IP, key considerations in the licensing process, and the impact of the IP created.

This year’s conference will be chaired by Roisin Higgins KC, an IP law specialist, and Mark Cruickshank, Managing Legal Counsel at RBS. As ever, it is open to all advocates, solicitors, devils, trainees, students and other professionals with an interest in IP.

The conference will be held in the Mackenzie Building, Edinburgh. Registration available at 11.30am with the conference due to run from 12pm to 1.30pm, followed by lunch, kindly provided by the Faculty. We know how important it is for us all to stay in touch, so similar to last year, the conference will be in-person only. Please join us for some interesting discussion and a chance to network and catch up with friends.
